Belgian multi-instrumentalist Sander Boury shares single Mumbai

Sander Boury’s music is a cinematic, largely instrumental blend with influences from jazz and eastern music. During covid, Sander discovered an affinity for piano and saxophone, and a whole new world opened up. Sander learned to play both instruments self-taught, driven by curiosity and a desire to broaden his horizons.

Today, Sander released his new single ‘Mumbai’. Sander on his new single ‘Mumbai’ and on his music: “On Mumbai I tried to create a certain atmosphere with various sounds. For example, I used an Indian harmonium and various small instruments, such as keychains and shakers. The basses were recorded with an old organ. I also like to add many layers of percussion. The (limited) lyrics in my songs often deal with the existential and question existence.”

Versatility typifies Sander: he is a true creator. In addition to being a musician, he is active as a woodworker/furniture maker. Among other things, he creates custom drums under the name Mafketeldrums. He’s converted a building into a place of creation in Belgium, which also houses a music studio.

Sander Boury is joined in the studio and live by Jonathan Frederix (HEISA, The Shovels). Catch Sander Boury live:
