The last batch, kids! You can now listen to Out There Vol. 1 in full.
First up for this week is Markov, the fresh solo project of multi-instrumentalist and musical wunderkind Evert Cleenders. You might know him as 1/3 of synthpop band Men In Tears. Qiran is the first song he’s releasing and we absolutely love it. He combines interesting synth textures with sparkly guitar layers to end up with a dynamic instrumental piece you’ll want to put on repeat for days. We’d LOVE to hear more of this project soon.
The very last song on the compilation is and had to be Pintjes by Hermanos Driesos. You know Dries as the DIY powerhouse behind Gazer Tapes and the guitarist of Poppel and Fake Indians. My initial reaction to Pintjes must have been something along the lines of ‘haha loll, awesome/funny’. Three days later, the melody was still stuck in my head and I’ve played the song almost every day since. Frisse pintjes, zaterdag in de cocktailbar. Yes please.
News on how and when you can get your hands on a cassette tape is coming next week. For now listen to the whole thing on Bandcamp.
